For UTOOTO, an interactive installation by sound artist and designer Yuri Suzuki, I contributed to the sound design and spatial composition of the work — a living, evolving sonic architecture built collaboratively by visitors.

The piece invites participants to construct a utopian “city of sound,” where communication happens not through words but through resonance. Drawing from field recordings collected worldwide, UTOOTO explores how shared acoustic structures—like the universal vowel sounds [a], [i], and [u]—form the foundation of human connection.

My sound work for this installation focused on translating these cross-linguistic resonances into immersive textures and tonal systems, forming a harmonic dialogue between natural sound, voice, and architectural space.

Rooted in Suzuki’s vision of a participatory, ever-changing sonic landscape, UTOOTO becomes both a collective instrument and a meditation on unity, memory, and the acoustic traces that bind us across cultures.
